Ava Cowan, NSCA-CPT/ CPTS Ava is Ms. Figure America 2007, a WNSO Professional Figure Athlete, a writer for STF and How To Get Lean Magazine. She is also a personal trainer and now, MyBodySite.com's resident fitness expert and spokes model. You have seen Ava in dozens of magazines and she has graced the front cover of 15 of those magazines. It is this visibility in Internationally published magazines that has given her world wide recognition especially within the fitness community. A few years ago, Ava set her sights on becoming a personal training specialist. She attended The Fitness Institute in Boca Raton, Florida, graduating as a fully qualified, certified personal training specialist (CPTS). She is also NCSA certified. Ava's first figure competition was the 2005 NPC Southern States Figure Championship where she won the Overall Figure title. In November 2007, she went on to compete at the FAME North American Championships where she won the advanced division, and became a WNSO Figure Professional. Several weeks later she competed at the 2007 Figure America in Los Angeles, CA where she won the short class and the Overall title. Ava is currently collaborating with Dream Tan Competition color to create an exclusive line of color that will be available in 2009. Most recently Ava was selected to be a secondary celebrity fitness trainer to an aspiring bodybuilder on MTV's MADE. She has also made two appearances on Lifetime Televisions The Balancing Act where she discusses her career in fitness modeling, personal training and her competition history. In 2009, Ava plans on competing in the WBFF at the World Championships in the figure division.
