Gelusa Zaripova was born in Russia to the family of an AIDS doctor-turned-politician. She traveled all over the world with her family and got a chance to live and receive education in various parts of the world. Fluent in four languages, she graduated from her all girls’ high school in Russia as a Valedictorian. She studied in Turkey for a few years but she decided to finish her higher education in US where she graduated from the University of Houston. Too restless to be satisfied with her corporate career as an Accounting Supervisor, she started modeling and acting. Within a few months, Gelusa won Miss Bikini USA – San Antonio 2006 title, filmed Bikini USA-Picture This and appeared on several magazine covers. She can be seen in numerous ads and clothing catalogs including Goorin Brothers, Ujena Swimwear, West End Trends Clothing, Kowboys and Company Clothing and many more. Gelusa has appeared in Maxim En Espanol and Houston Health and Fitness magazine as well as commercials for Vodafone, Renault Samsung Motors, and Kodak. As a matter of fact, Gelusa has appeared in 10 TV commercials, 6 TV shows, 6 music videos and over 20 print ad campaigns in just the last 12 months. Gelusa is a recipient of numerous modeling awards that include Image Awards from Men7 Network / Bennett Productions in 2007, Savvy.com and TinBu.com in 2008. She was also named Top Model of the Year by Man7 Network and Top 10 World Bikini Model by Ujena Swimwear and ShowSum. In 2007 Gelusa filmed Ice Scream, the Remix, an independent comedy shot in the tradition of the Scary Movie which is a parody on all horror movies. Among Gelusa’s recent acting work is an episode of a hit CBS drama NUMBERS that is scheduled to air in November 2008 and a number of comedic shorts with comedian Owen Benjamin which are part of Owen’s weekly comedy show on Sony Pictures’ comedy site Crackle. Gelusa’s other appearances include the 2008 Billboard Latin Music Awards where Gelusa performed as a back up dancer to Kumbia All Starz, and numerous TV shows on Telemundo. In August 2008 Gelusa again shot with Maxim En Espanol and will be featured in a few photo spreads in the upcoming issues of the magazine. Besides, Gelusa has recently signed a one-year spokes modeling contract with Hollywood Poker. Gelusa’s future projects include the independent movie Killer Girls scheduled for January 2009 and a number of TV shows and print campaigns overseas. Recognized as a young star on the rise, Gelusa is an extremely talented and diverse woman who brings a breath of fresh air to the entertainment industry and shows no signs of slowing down.
